Our Story
It isn't just about combining organizations; it's about enhancing your local care experience with more resources and expertise. At Emplify Health, we are committed to providing compassion, increasing access and bettering health outcomes. We're your neighbors and your care team, working together across local hospitals and clinics to keep care close to home.
We're better together
Bellin and Gundersen merged in 2022. When two trusted health systems unite, something special happens — care becomes closer, choices grow and neighbors feel even more supported. With more hearts and hands at work, we're here to amplify care in every community.
We unveiled a name that reflects who we are
Launching Emplify Health was about more than a new name — it was about reflecting the whole person at the heart of care. Our brand puts empathy first, ensuring every touchpoint feels personal.
Our new logo found its place on walls, halls and hearts
Only a handful of our locations reflect the new brand today — and that's by design. We're taking a thoughtful, steady approach so our communities can embrace Emplify Health and transition together.
The first step to a unified experience
The journey toward a unified health system doesn't happen overnight. Quietly and carefully, we've been building the foundation so your care feels seamless, no matter where you connect with us. This is just the first step in making your experience easier and more connected.
What's Next?
New initiatives and spaces are taking shape — expanding to bring you more care, more access and more of what matters.
The history of
Bellin Health
The Bellin Health legacy began in 1908, when Dr. Julius Bellin opened a 15-bed hospital in Green Bay, Wis. that grew into Bellin Memorial. By opening clinics across Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Bellin Health became a leader in specialty and primary care.
The history of
Gundersen Health
In 1891, Dr. Adolf Gundersen opened his practice in La Crosse, Wis., later serving as Lutheran Hospital’s first medical director. Over the decades, Gundersen Clinic expanded through rural affiliations. In 1995, the clinic and hospital united as Gundersen Lutheran, and in 2013 became Gundersen Health System in 2013.
Our Leadership
Together, we're committed to guiding our physician-led enterprise with empathy and empowering teams to change healthcare.
